Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has begun a cloning process to replace certain 2015 model year orders that they are unable to fulfill, the manufacturer announced. These orders and their specifications will be automatically duplicated to the nearest 2016 model year equivalent. Affected models include the Chrysler 200 and Town & Country; Dodge Dart and Grand Caravan; Jeep Cherokee, Compass, and Patriot; and Ram Pickups and Chassis Cabs.
The 2016 replacements will be price protected if the original orders were received by the manufacturer on or before the scheduled 2015 ordering deadline. While FCA has stated that replacement orders will be prioritized over non-replacement orders, there may be significant delays due to late fleet production startup for the 2016 model year. Clients may choose to cancel their orders if they wish to avoid delays, but there is only a brief window of time to do so.
FCA Fleet Operations is providing ARI Vehicle Supply Chain with lists of all affected orders, which will be communicated to our ARI Client Representatives, and FCA Regional Account Executives (RAEs) are reaching out directly to affected fleet customers. Clients who have not heard from their RAE and are concerned that they may have affected orders are encouraged to contact their ARI representative for assistance as soon as possible.
